My first career was in modern dance. I performed, taught, and choreographed for twenty-five years. Once I became a mom in 2000, I did not want to return to the schedule of a dance professionals life, but I did not know what was next for me yet.

I took my first beading class in 2002. My first goal was to make gifts for my five sisters and many women friends. As I made more I realized that I really enjoyed doing it, and that I could use my artistically trained eye and mind in this way. In 2003 I started by business, selling jewelry at craft fairs and home shows. I have continued ever since to expand my skills and refine my point of view.
